Hydration and Mood : The Relationship 

Hydration in simpler terms means drinking water or providing the water to your body that has been lost in normal body functioning process.

Hydration is required for our body to support digestion, maintain body temperature, regulate electrolyte balance, transport nutrients to cells, functioning of  the brain, and removing waste from the body.

Hydration has a connection with mood too. Since it impacts brain functioning, it may impact our mood as well.

Hydration can help emotional regulation by supporting the balance of neurotransmitters and hormones.

On the other hand, dehydration can impact your concentration, make you irritable, reduces your cognitive functioning too.

Hydration along with its too many benefits, also impacts our mood. So keep yourself hydrated and feel good throughout the day. Along with water, you can include coconut water, lemon water, buttermilk, even fruits like watermelon, melons to keep yourself well hydrated. Athletes and gym goers can also consider BCAA supplements with added electrolytes to maintain the fluid-electrolyte balance and prevent cramps.
